Deluxe Digital High Definition Media Center Ships Blu-ray With Full Copy Protection Using DCA DiscTag Enabled Products

(DCA) & Deluxe Digital Studios proudly announce that Deluxe Digital High Definition Media Center manufactured its first Blu-ray title with AACS & ROM Mark on September 20, 2006 using the Sony PTM LBR and DCA DiscTag Enabled products. DCA's Viper was used for pre-mastering. Viper scans the incoming Blu-ray sources for AACS & BDCMF incompatibilities. Additionally, it creates a "Gold Reference" HCRC value tied to a unique marker on each Blu-ray layer. This HCRC value is used to later automatically verify the replica to the original content. AACS encryption was performed by DCA's Blazer AACS Workstation, which provides an extremely fast method for encrypting Blu-ray. All encryption is done 'in-place' within the image itself, eliminating the need for time-wasting copies of the image or files. Mastering & ROM Mark integration was done using DCA's MIS 8.5 Formatter for Blu-ray on the Sony PTM LBR. Verification of replicas was performed using the HCRC value on DCA's Viper. The DiscTag Enabled workflow uses a unique marker on each layer as a key to retrieve a "Gold Reference" HCRC value and XML metadata from a network location and enable automatic physical testing with HCRC logical verification. The XML metadata contains customer, catalog, format type, and job report information for each application that touches the title. HCRC values provide verification of the replica against the original source data without the need for the original source to be present, while additionally reporting individual miscompare errors by sector and radius location.
