With its premium quality, innovative design, enhanced consumer value and contribution to the quality of life, LG Electronics has once again been recognized by the Consumer Electronics Association (CEA) and the International Consumer Electronics Show (CES) for its design and technical excellence with 11 prestigious CES 2007 Innovations awards at last night’s “CES Unveiled” event in New York City. “Superior innovation, technological advancements, functionality and design are at the core of our product development,” said Michael Ahn, president and CEO of LG Electronics North American Headquarters. “We are proud of our 11 honorees and that LG continues to be recognized as a leading innovator in the global consumer electronics industry.” With more than 50 CES Innovations awards over the past four years, LG has won accolades across multiple categories, including Video Displays, Home Theater Accessories, Home Appliance, Wireless Peripherals and Wireless Communications. LG Electronics products honored with 2007 CES Innovations Awards are: Video Displays 42-inch Plasma HDTV w/ OCAP (42PC1DN) – The 42PC1DN features built-in OCAP (open cable application platform) technology, multistream CableCARD capabilities and interactive capabilities, as well as high-definition content and interactive services like Video-on-Demand and PayPerView. Home Theater Accessories Universal Wireless Rear Kit (ACC97WK) – A wireless rear speaker kit, the ACC97WK eliminates wires from the main unit allowing for convenient speaker placement options. It is compatible with both LG and some non-LG home theater systems. The unit’s digital Direct Sequence Spread Spectrum transmission technology ensures reliable high-quality audio performance in any home environment. Wireless Communications Chocolate by LG (VX8500) – Featuring a super-slim style for sophisticated palettes, consumers can indulge in the luxury and innovation of Chocolate by LG. The Chocolate’s sleek, ultra thin minimalist style and silky-smooth slide design is perfectly complimented by its glowing red touch sensitive keypad. A cool, thin phone, the FUSIC looks, feels and plays like a portable music player and proves to be the ideal device for on-the-go users seeking a fully featured phone. Additionally, the FUSIC is the first mobile phone in the U.S. to feature an FM Transmitter for listening to music through a radio or car stereo. LG AX490 Featuring Fastap – in conjunction with Digit Wireless – The AX490 featuring Fastap is a mobile phone designed to make mobile life simple for the today’s consumer. The LG AX490’s sleek clamshell design and full alphanumeric Fastap keypad combines functionality with style that mobile consumers look for in today’s devices. The Fastap keypad can be used for easier discovery, access and use of the mobile handset and mobile operator key services such as Messaging (SMS, MMS, Instant Messaging, Mobile Email) and the Mobile Internet. LG Bluetooth® Stereo Lanyard Headset (HBS-110) – Talk or listen to music hands free with the Bluetooth Stereo headset from LG. The Bluetooth Stereo Headset is comfortable, easy to use and provides high quality stereo sound with up to six hours of music play. Wireless Peripherals LG Bluetooth® Stereo Lanyard Headset (HBS-110) Home Appliances LG Control Center Laundry with AdaptAble™ Control – The Control Center Laundry with movable AdaptAble™ Controls provides the space saving convenience of stackable laundry without compromising capacity and easy-to-reach controls. The Adaptable control of the dryer can be placed on the top of the unit for side-by-side installations, or moved to the bottom for a stack configuration, ensuring the control is always at a convenient height and is versatile enough to suit a consumer’s changing needs.
