Westinghouse Digital Electronics, one of the top five LCD manufacturers in the U.S.*, is becoming the canvas of choice for a new generation of artists who are showcasing their work on the latest high-tech medium: LCD TV's. With LCD TVs hotter than ever in the consumer world, globally renown filmmaker, artist and poet Jonas Mekas is embracing the medium and has selected the Westinghouse LTV-40w1 HDC as the display for his newest work, "www.JonasMekas.com - Recent Work" at the Maya Stendhal Gallery in New York City, with the opening reception scheduled for Thursday, November 9, 2006. Each LCD TV will show three to four films in an exhibition room and are considered to be part of the artwork itself. Mekas will be using the LTV-40w1 HDC displays to show films from several different categories including portraits, happenings, performances, travel, filmmakers, cinema, and autobiographical themes.
