Dolby Laboratories Opens Office In Korea

Dolby Laboratories, Inc. (NYSE: DLB) today announced it has opened a new office in the Republic of Korea. Located in Seoul, the office will house sales, support, and business development for the digital entertainment technology company. "Dolby's technologies are integral to the new consumer electronics devices coming out of Korea, which has become a center for development in mobile electronics and next-generation consumer devices," said Ramzi Haidamus, Senior Vice President and General Manager, Consumer Division, Dolby. "Opening the office in Seoul allows us to better support our existing customers and address new opportunities coming out of the region." Dolby(R) products and technologies are used extensively in consumer electronics and digital entertainment devices including DVD players, home theater systems, television sets, set-top boxes, video game consoles, portable audio and video players, and personal computers. Dolby has been supporting consumer electronics manufacturers in Korea for more than 30 years. The new Korean office is Dolby's fifth in Asia, joining offices in Tokyo, Shanghai, Beijing, and Hong Kong.
