Westinghouse Digital Enters Japanese Market With Distribution In The Country's Largest Retailer

Westinghouse Digital, which recently announced distribution in one of China's largest retail chains, now taps the high-volume LCD TV market in Japan with its high-quality 1080p 37" and 42" LCD HDTVs. The Westinghouse 37" LTV-37w6 and 42" LTV-42w5 have just launched at Yamada Denki, Japan's largest national retailer with over 300 stores across the country. Westinghouse anticipates continued expansion into other stores with additional models and sizes moving into 2007. The company is working to build loyal customers by providing best-of-breed technology and enhanced product sets with tremendous pricing Westinghouse Digital's entry into Japan comes on the heels of its expansion into the Chinese market. Consumers in China looking for an award-winning LCD TV can now select from Westinghouse Digital's entire line of 27'', 32'', 37'', 42'' and 47'' LCD displays. Westinghouse's TVs are available at Gome, one of China's largest retail chains. The first LCD HDTVs Westinghouse will bring to the Japanese market include the 37" LTV-37w6 and 42" LTV-42w5. Both offer full HD panels with 1080p resolution (1920 x 1080), HDMI support, integrated ISDB-T/BS/CS digital tuners, EPG and Data Broadcasting. These products were specifically created for the Japanese market in response to the increase in the digital broadcast environment. Both models meet the Japanese broadcast standards and will function as full digital displays when Japan converts to all digital broadcast in 2011.
