The new line of Peerless "Lifestyle" drivers, unveiled at this week's Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas, are being introduced alongside Tymphany's LAT™ 250 (Linear Array Transducer) subwoofer, a small, cylindrical subwoofer specifically designed to be integrated directly into today's sleek lifestyle CE products. The Peerless Lifestyle drivers were developed to provide lifestyle CE manufacturers with a way to differentiate their products with high-quality sound across the complete sound spectrum. Products including flat panel televisions, MP3 and cell phone docking stations, and multimedia PCs can offer dramatically better sound with the new Peerless drivers; when coupled with Tymphany's ground-breaking LAT 250 subwoofer, these products can also provide dramatically better bass output. Peerless Lifestyle Driver Features Designed from the motor up to handle more power, reduce distortion, and provide better sound dispersion, the new full range drivers offer numerous advantages over most traditional audio transducers found in consumer electronics devices. Both of the Peerless Lifestyle full range drivers feature a Neodymium motor structure and doubleventing system that helps keep dynamic range intact, as the transducer can handle more power and dissipate excess heat efficiently. An anodized aluminum dome provides superior sound dispersion and off-axis response. A semi-progressive surround reduces distortion, especially at high output through long excursion. The drivers' direct connected dome (connected to the magnet system) extends the high frequency range, providing superior sound on the high notes. Pricing and Availability The new Peerless full range drivers – model numbers 830970 and 830987 – are offered as standard products, or they can be fully customized by Tymphany's leading acoustical engineering team to meet the very unique needs of a specific customer and application. The 2-inch full range driver (830970) is available for sampling immediately by consumer electronics OEM manufacturers, with the 3-inch full range (830987) available in February. Both of the new Lifestyle Drivers can be obtained directly through Tymphany.
