Anthem Unveils AVM 40 Audio/Video Processor

“Among the best — if not the best for the money”* says Sound & Vision on Anthem’s award-winning AVM series of home theater/audio preamp processors

January 16, 2007

Anthem Electronics is pleased to introduce the AVM 40, the latest addition to its award-winning Audio Video Master’s (AVM) lineup. The ‘40’ was designed and built on the same award-winning platform as its critically acclaimed sibling the AVM 30. With the addition of HDMI™ digital audio/video connection plus video transcoding, however, the ‘40’ ushers in a new era of exceptionally affordable digital audio/video connectivity. As demonstrated earlier by Anthem with the launch of its Anthem® Statement D2 audio/video processor, and more recently the Anthem® AVM 50 processor, the HDMI™ promise of "plug and play" actually can work, despite the many disappointments that audio/video dealers and customers had previously experienced with HDMI™ in the marketplace. The AVM 40 is perfect for the customer who wants digital video connectivity and all its associated benefits but doesn’t want to invest in the advanced video processing found in the newly released AVM 50 or its extraordinary ultra-high-end sibling the Anthem® Statement D2. With the AVM 40 (as with all of Anthem’s audio/video processors!) you get the setup flexibility and adjustability you need to make all of your digital audio and video components work together. In addition to all of the features found in the AVM 30 the AVM 40 features: • 4 HDMI™ Inputs for standard and high-definition digital audio and video including multichannel high-resolution audio. • 1 HDMI™ Output • State-of-the-Art Analog-to-Digital Video Transcoding allowing S-Video and Component Video inputs to be digitally processed and enhanced then routed through HDMI™ outputs. Video input gain and offset can also be tweaked separately and accordingly for each S-Video and Component Video source. • Zone 2 Component Video Output Control allows the second set of Component Video outputs to be used for HD video switching of sources output to Zone 2. • Macrovision Support allows VCR tapes to be processed, then output through HDMI™. • Adaptive Video Source Tracking adjusts video tracking from poorer quality sources. • On-Screen Display. Setup Menu can be viewed through HDMI™ or S-Video outputs. • Advanced Hardware Framework allows longer cables to be driven without degrading or losing the signal and provides support for ultra-high bandwidth 1080p / 60Hz. The AVM 40 has an FMV price of US $3,699. *Quote by Al Griffin, Sound & Vision on Anthem’s popular AVM Series of home theater/audio preamp processors, October 2006 For more details on the AVM 40 please visit www.anthemav.com Anthem, part of the Paradigm Group, is a leading manufacturer of award-winning high-end electronics for music, home theater and distributed sound systems sold internationally under the brand names Anthem™ and Anthem™ Statement.
