Paradigm Electronics Inc., an international leader in speaker design and manufacturing, introduces the latest version of its incredibly successful Paradigm® Reference Signature Series. Despite only a few short years since the introduction of this series, prototypes of the next generation will be on display at CES 2007. They will showcase new state-of-the-art P-Be™ pure-beryllium tweeter domes and CoIA™ Cobalt-infused pure-aluminum woofer cones. The original series promised a listening experience “beyond the ordinary”; now with impressive design upgrades and new technology, as well as six new models, this new generation of Signature speakers promises even more! “Paradigm engineers continually strive to develop new technologies to push the limits of loudspeaker performance,” says Jack Shafton, Director of Sales and Marketing for Paradigm Electronics. “With our newest additions (Studio v.4 and Signature v.2), the Paradigm® Reference Series represents the speaker industry’s most impressive collection of affordable high-performance, high-end speaker systems. Both dealers and their customers will experience the benefits of an audio experience that is simply unmatched in fidelity, without sacrificing the ability to play at high volumes.” G-PAL™ gold-anodized pure-aluminum tweeter domes have been upgraded in this new generation to pure beryllium. Despite being far more expensive, the new material was chosen for its exceptional mechanical properties: lighter than aluminum and with unmatched rigidity, the new beryllium is the ideal tweeter dome material, without the inherent brittleness of other exotic materials. Performance behind the dome in v.1 was outstanding, and as a result, very little has changed. ARB™ aperiodic-resonance breakup fins disperse even the tiniest residual resonances. Die-cast chassis, FEA-optimized* dual super-neodymium magnets and advanced motor assemblies continue to support outstanding high-frequency performance. The result is a faster tweeter with extended high-frequency response, even further reduced distortion, and exceptional clarity. MLP™ mica-loaded co-polymer cones on midrange and bass/midrange drivers have now been upgraded in Signature v.2 to a performance-enhancing composite of cobalt-infused anodized pure-aluminum. The infusion of cobalt brings increased stiffness and improved damping to the inherently lightweight character of the pure-aluminum cone. Mineral-filled polypropylene bass cones, a standard on all Paradigm® Reference speakers, continue their control over the lower frequencies. Behind the cones, the support cast is also relatively unchanged: massive FEA-optimized ceramic/ferrite magnets and sophisticated motor assemblies continue to provide extremely high output, remarkably low distortion and enviable power handling. Die-cast chassis and Paradigm’s trademark AVS™ cooling system work in tandem, cooling the drivers and dispersing heat. Lightweight, long-travel aluminum or copper voice coils with Apical™ formers were maintained for their track record of accuracy and reliability, even under the most challenging conditions. The Signature precision crossover network was privy to some “tweaking” by Paradigm engineers in an effort to further fine-tune performance. However, the major players – silver-plated oxygen-free copper cable, air-core inductors, high-power ceramic resistors and polypropylene capacitors – were left unchanged. The IMS-SHOCK MOUNT™ butyl-rubber driver fastening system, first introduced in the original series, remains. This leading-edge driver energy control technology, which completely eliminates cabinet resonance issues, was so successful that Paradigm introduced it into their award-winning Paradigm Reference Studio series, and it is currently featured on Studio v.4, also on display at CES 2007. All new on-wall models feature an extruded aluminum/MDF baffle offering obvious benefits to their on-wall role. MagneShield™ magnetic shielding is standard on all models with the exception of the ADP™ surrounds. Models are available in a variety of high-polished Signature wood veneers or Piano Black, and on-wall models are available in Silver or Black. The Signature v.2 lineup: New Model!
