Dolby Defines The Sound Of Digital Entertainment At CeBIT 2007

Showcases great PC entertainment experiences with Microsoft Windows Vista and Dolby technologies

At CeBIT 2007, Dolby Laboratories, Inc. (NYSE: DLB) will demonstrate how its technologies enhance the sound of digital entertainment across a variety of platforms, including personal computers (PCs), consumer electronics devices, game consoles, televisions, and mobile devices. Dolby will highlight the use of its technologies in personal computers, innovative PC peripherals, and software including Windows® VistaTM Ultimate and Windows Vista Home Premium editions. PCs Featuring Dolby "The recent introduction of Windows Vista makes CeBIT a prime opportunity for the industry to showcase advances that allow the PC to deliver even better entertainment experiences, built on great sound and video," said Greg Rodehau, PC Market Segment Director, Dolby Laboratories. "Dolby has been working closely with leading PC suppliers and manufacturers to integrate Dolby technologies into their products to deliver a great experience from just about any content or listening environment." Dolby will showcase PCs that integrate Dolby® technologies, including products from ASUSTek, Lenovo, Sony, and Toshiba, to deliver a home cinema experience. Among the notebooks shown were the ASUS W2, the ASUS G2Pc, the LenovoTM 3000 Y500, the Sony® Vaio® TX, the Sony Vaio LA, and the recently updated Toshiba® QosmioTM G30-204, running Windows Vista Ultimate and Home Premium editions. Dolby also will exhibit PC peripherals that let users enjoy high-quality surround sound from their PCs. Among the peripherals Dolby will show are the recently launched Sondigo Inferno, a 7.1-channel PCI sound card, the Sondigo Sirocco wireless audio bridge, and the Sondigo Callisto Home Theatre Adapter, now all available for purchase in Europe. The Sondigo Inferno sound card`s combination of Dolby technologies, including Dolby Headphone Dolby Virtual Speaker technologies, Dolby Pro Logic IIx, and Dolby Digital Live, give PC users the flexibility to enjoy a high-quality experience from all their content and in almost any playback environment. Other peripheral products equipped with Dolby technologies include the recently unveiled ASUS XG Station graphics card, which allows users to enjoy up to ten times faster graphics power and provides Dolby surround sound over any pair of headphones using Dolby Headphone technology. Dolby Technologies in Windows Vista and PC Software Applications Dolby also will highlight several PC software products that incorporate Dolby technologies, including Windows Vista Ultimate and Windows Vista Home Premium editions, which integrate Dolby Digital surround sound decoding for DVD movie and digital TV playback and give people the ability to create DVDs with Dolby Digital soundtracks using Microsoft Windows DVD Maker. In addition, Dolby will show the CyberLink PowerDVD Ultra, a software player for high-definition disc playback. The CyberLink player integrates support for Dolby TrueHD and Dolby Digital Plus, giving people the ability to experience the latest high-definition content in rich, realistic surround sound. For video creation, Dolby will show Ulead® VideoStudio® 10 Plus, Pinnacle StudioTM Plus 10.5, and Nero® 7 Premium Reloaded, which integrate Dolby Digital 5.1 Creator, an authoring tool that allows users to create their own multichannel Dolby Digital soundtracks. Dolby Pro Logic II expands any stereo DVD movie, music, video game, or broadcast audio signal into a 5.1-channel surround sound experience, creating a natural surround sound field that delivers a realistic and immersive entertainment experience. The Sony PLAYSTATION®3 features Dolby Digital 5.1 surround sound for games, as well as Dolby Digital and Dolby TrueHD for decoding up to 7.1 channels for Blu-ray DiscTM movie playback.
