Soundmatters Introduces The SUBstage250Cube: Brilliant, High-Def Bass Response From A Diminutive Enclosure

May 17, 2007

soundmatters international will take the wraps off a new digitally powered mini-subwoofer at the Home Entertainment Show in NY when it debuts the SUBstage250CubeTM. The SUBstage250Cube offers high-impact, high-definition bass response that is typically associated with subwoofers measuring twice the size and cost. Measuring only 10.4" x 10.1" x 9.6" (HxWxD), the SUBstage250Cube fits in many otherwise challenging room locations without sacrificing one degree of performance. "A subwoofer is a crucial element in any home audio system, yet we hear from a surprising number of consumers who are forced to forego a sub because their listening rooms are too small for a large, often obtrusive box," said Lee Adams, soundmatters' Vice President of Sales and Marketing. "The SUBstage250Cube conquers the challenge of adding bass to a limited space environment thanks to our proprietary technology, and it can be daisy-chained with additional SUBstage models for superior room boundary coupling and extreme sound pressure levels." What sets the SUBstage250Cube apart from other mini-subwoofers is soundmatters' patented "bass plate," extreme-energyTM and Neodymium Sandwich Magnet Technology, featuring a patented 6.25" ExtremeEnergyTM neo-sandwich woofer with a 6" flat aluminum diaphragm and 1.4" voice coil. This combination of soundmatters-specific elements produces high-definition bass that is normally associated with the most expensive subwoofers on the market. Additionally, a patented "sky-firing" super woofer with moving walls makes it possible for soundmatters to design the SUBstage250Cube with an ultra-compact enclosure, making it easy to hide without affecting performance. The SUBstage250Cube is magnetically shielded, and features a response of -3dB @ 30Hz. Included are a built-in heat pipe for efficient cooling, a finned die cast aluminum heat sink, and adjustable "air suspension" multi-surface feet. In order to enhance placement options, soundmatters designed the unit with all connections on the bottom. Soundmatters' new SUBstage250Cube will ship in August at a U.S. MAP of $449. soundmatters international, inc. (www.soundmatters.com), which recently relocated to Reno, NV, is dedicated to developing consumer electronics that enhance, rather than complicate consumers' lifestyles.
