The Screen Actors Guild (SAG) Foundation has selected SIM2 USA to provide the main and ancillary projection systems in the screening room of its new Actors Center facility here in Los Angeles. Scheduled for completion later this year, the Center will host classes, seminars, rehearsal space, and of course screenings for the local Guild community. "We are quite pleased that the SAG Foundation has selected SIM2 to provide the video projection systems for its new Actors Center," comments Dan Drook, vice president of SIM2 USA's Pro Cinema division. "This facility caters to the most discriminating film audiences in the world, which is a testament to the quality of picture we provide so we are proud to have our 1080p projection systems at the heart of their screening room." "The new Actors Center, with its remarkable video systems, will be an important resource for entertainment industry professionals," said Casey Lewis, SAG Foundation Director of Special Projects. "From the outset, we realized it was essential to provide the Center with state-of-the-art video projection capabilities. These exceptional projectors from SIM2's professional cinema division have a reputation for quality, reliability, and exceptional performance, and I expect that they will impress even the most technically sophisticated members and guests of SAG." The Actors Center screening room will employ a SIM2 PRO5000 3-chip 1080p DLP™ projector for the main screen. Two additional screens in the room will feature SIM2 HT3000 1080p projectors in a rear projection configuration for supplemental display during seminars, interviews, and education programs. The SAG Foundation Actors Center is intended as a space to foster, develop, and sustain the thriving artistic community in Los Angeles. In addition to the main screening room and auditorium, it will provide actors with access to computers, video and audio equipment, rehearsal space, and rooms for workshops and classes.
