Gefen Home Theater Scaler PLUS Connects Four Digital And Analog Sources Before Scaling And Outputting Audio/Video In HDMI Format

May 24, 2007

Perfect for bridging the analog/digital gap, Gefen's new Home Theater Scaler Plus does triple-duty, offering format conversion and source switching in addition to high definition video scaling. This versatile unit comes equipped with video inputs for component, composite, s-video and HDMI sources. Each video has a supplemental audio input: composite/s-video and component with RCA two-channel stereo, HDMI with digital S/PDIF and TOSlink. Audio and video from each source is converted to a digital format, if needed, then output in HDMI format with mirrored audio delivered in S/PDIF and TOSlink. Video may be up and down scaled in all high definition resolutions from 480i to 1080p, with further refinements of color, balance and audio lip-synching to enhance the ultimate quality of the signal. When multiple sources are connected, the Gefen Home Theater Scaler Plus performs seamless source switching, controlled by IR remote. This gives the user instant access to the audio and video form each of the four sources using the same HDMI display or projector. Easy to use, simple to install and reliable in performance, the Gefen Home Theater Scaler Plus makes a valuable addition to any system that wants the benefits of both old and new formats. It is completely HDCP-compliant and comes with its own six-foot HDMI cable for the display. Gefen also supplies a Home Theater Scaler, with support for component and HDMI sources with analog and digital audio. Details on all of Gefen's scalers may be found online at www.gefen.com.
