Alexis Park & St. Tropez To Host THE Show During CES

June 13, 2007

The Home Entertainment Show formally announces its acquisition of Alexis Park, in addition to the St Tropez Hotel, for the tenth annual T.H.E. Show in January, 2008. T.H.E. Show is adding the Alexis Park to its convention plans in order to "better serve the Audiophile and Home Theater community," according to Richard Beers, President, T.H.E. Show. "In the past," says Beers, "we have been limited by a lack of exhibit room options, exhibition space and, quite frankly, some poor hotel management decisions. We are fixing those problems this year by signing long-term agreements with the Alexis Park Resort and St Tropez Hotel, both of which are undergoing significant renovations. "The expansion details and construction of our interactive website has been completed," says Beers, "and we are now in a position to take full reservations for exhibit rooms and extensive, static convention floor booth space. We have made it extremely easy for exhibitors to book T.H.E. Show. Interested parties have only to visit our website - http://space.theshowlasvegas.com - to take a look at the aerial view of both hotels, click on various rooms to acquire pricing and detailed floor plans. Exhibitors may complete their reservations and set up a convenient monthly payment plan right on-line." Touting itself as the "user-friendly" convention, T.H.E. Show also promises to answer its telephones at (702) 242-4545 for questions or to assist those without Internet access. Mike Maloney, founder and CEO of T.H.E. Show says, "This is the year we have been building toward for over a decade. I think the Audiophile and Home Theater community will be joining our new and improved exhibition sites enthusiastically after years of confusion. The Audio and High-End Home Theater industry has been over-priced and really pushed around to a point where it is too spread out, too overlooked, and too expensive for many exhibitors. We are attempting to regain a sense of a cohesive convention that serves not just as a great and unified place for audiophiles to do extensive international business with international exposure, but also a place for the community as a whole to come together and enjoy /The Best/ of the entire industry. "We want and expect that the way we operate T.H.E. Show 2008 will be extremely attractive to exhibitors, visitors and the related Press alike," says Maloney, himself a former speaker manufacturer and convention exhibitor for over 25 years." We are incorporating all of the best features of Show's past like T.H.E. Free Lunch and an International Building dedicated to exhibitors from Asia - we even provide a Japananese translator. And we keep our hours at 9:30AM to 6:30PM daily, to better serve everyone who has a limited schedule in which to see every exhibit. We encourage our exhibitors to enjoy flexible hours to better accommodate late private sessions; and our furniture removal and freight requirements are both much more flexible and much less expensive than our competitor. "Overall, we are creating a relaxed, but constructive atmosphere in which to do serious business and, at the same time, enjoy the camaraderie the Audiophile community once enjoyed." To facilitate the commute between the Main Convention Center and the Venetian area, T.H.E. Show is adding more shuttles next year. And, even the Dept. of Road Construction in Vegas is cooperating by promising to clean up that mess near Paradise and Harmon Roads well before the next convention. "In the past," says Maloney, "we have often pointed out some of the bad acoustic situations at Alexis Park, but, the way our team has designed T.H.E. Show 2008, we are eliminating most of those negatives. We'll be utilizing only those rooms we deem suitable for exhibits and trying to keep most exhibit rooms to the Main Floor in both hotels, with outside or "hard-to-reach" rooms off of our inventory list. This should improve the old flow-of-traffic issues and make this the most '/user-friendly/' convention in the industry." Beers also released news that there will be a pedestrian bridge connecting the two hotels across a flood canal, which otherwise forces foot traffic onto a narrow sidewalk along busy Harmon Avenue. "We hadn't even released all of this information, in hopes of completing the details, before exhibitors began contacting us for more information. We have already had a great deal of interest and have signed up many new exhibitors including many of the Record, Vinyl and CD exhibitors who will, once again, be returning to the Parthenon Ballroom at Alexis Park. We have already signed agreements with Classic Records, Acoustic Sounds, Reference Recordings and MA Recordings with many more to follow." "Every year during CES and T.H.E. Show Las Vegas hotel room rates skyrocket. We are trying to keep rates reasonable by providing sleeping acomodation on the upper floors of both our hotels. Details will be released in July, 2007 for those wishing to make early reservations," says Beers. "All the pricing that shows up on the website right now," says Maloney, "reflects early discounted rates that we hope will encourage exhibitors to sign up early and build T.H.E. Show 2008 into what we envision will be the prime gathering spot for all Audiophile and Home Theater industry leaders and enthusiasts for years to come. Our current pricing indicates a real effort on our part to /bring the community back together/, reflecting lower rates that haven't been seen by the industry in this century. "Together with T.H.E. Show Denver during CEDIA in September, we believe we provide to companies in the high-end audio and home theater industries the opportunity to gain extensive worldwide attention without the hassle and expense that they encounter elsewhere." The Home Entertainment Show in Las Vegas runs concurrently with CES, January 7 - 10, 2007 in Las Vegas, NV. T.H.E. Show Denver runs concurrently with CEDIA, Sept 6 - 9, 2007 in Denver, CO.
