Corel Announces DTS-HD Master Audio Support For InterVideo® WinDVD® HD/BD

Leading Video Playback Software Delivers Latest High-resolution Audio

June 13, 2007

Corel Corporation (NASDAQ:CREL; TSX:CRE), a leading developer of graphics, productivity and digital media software, today announced that the NVIDIA version of InterVideo® WinDVD® BD/HD supports DTS-HD Master Audio from DTS, Inc. (Nasdaq: DTSI). Well-known as the world's most popular DVD playback software, WinDVD is one of the first high-definition (HD) playback and navigation software solutions to deliver DTS-HD Master Audio. With DTS-HD Master Audio support, WinDVD provides true high-definition surround-sound that matches the crystal-clear HD quality of Blu-ray and HD DVD videos--at home or on the road. "Congratulations to Corel and its WinDVD video player for being among the first to provide DTS-HD Master Audio playback," said Brian Towne, Senior Vice President and General Manager, Consumer Division of DTS. "DTS and InterVideo have worked together for many years, setting the pace for the highest-quality audio experience on a PC. We look forward to continuing that relationship with Corel as we work together to maximize the entertainment experience for consumers." Based on the DTS Coherent Acoustics coding system that is mandatory audio technology for both the Blu-ray disc and the HD DVD disc, DTS-HD Master Audio delivers audio at super-high variable bit rates that are significantly higher than standard DVDs—24.5 mega-bits per second (Mbps) on Blu-ray discs and 18.0 Mbps on HD-DVD. At these rates, users can enjoy 7.1 audio channels of lossless 96kHz/24-bit audio that is bit-for-bit identical to the original. To ensure compatibility with existing DTS-enabled equipment such as home theater systems, DTS-HD Master Audio includes the DTS 1.5 Mbps core which not only enables users to downmix to 5.1 and two-channel support, it provides an instant upgrade in audio quality. "Corel is committed to maintaining WinDVD's tradition of excellence by continuing to make the consumer video experience more enjoyable," said Blaine Mathieu, Vice President and General Manager, Products and Strategy, Digital Media at Corel. "People who move up to HD video want the same quality in their audio as they have with their picture. Even people who aren't ready to move up can enjoy improved audio quality with their legacy equipment now and know that they have a growth path to the future. It's the best of both worlds." Availability, Licensing Windows Vista™ compatible, WinDVD HD/BD for NVIDIA PCs and GPUs will available later this month through Corel's worldwide resellers and online at www.corel.com or http://www.intervideo.com. NVIDIA will also provide a link for WinDVD-compatible downloads. WinDVD HD and H.264 codecs are available through Corel for licensing to OEMs, system integrators and other third parties.
