Dnp Supernova™ Screens Receive ISF Certification

Image Science Foundation Affirms Supernova Screens’ Quality and Innovation

June 13, 2007

The Supernova Screen by dnp is the first-ever optical front-projection screen that allows viewing in brightly lit environments. The Supernova Infinity and Supernova Flex have recently received certification from the Image Science Foundation (ISF). The certification means that ISF scientists have evaluated these screens for meeting or exceeding the demanding ISF benchmarks for quality that define the best in video performance available. “We are very proud that the optical attributes of our Supernova Infinity and Supernova Flex meet the criteria set forth by ISF,” stated Manfred Freiberger, senior account manager for dnp USA. “ISF certification is currently recognized worldwide as a consumer’s guarantee that the display maintains uniformity, color balance and accuracy, all attributes that are dnp’s trademarks.” Supernova Screens are based on a revolutionary high-contrast filter that allows the projected image to be reflected from the screen head-on, while effectively absorbing light from other sources such as ceiling lights. As a result, the Supernova Screen is virtually unaffected by ambient light. This innovative design allows Supernova Screens to deliver up to ten times the contrast of conventional screens. During the upcoming audio/visual tradeshow, InfoComm 2007, June 19-21, 2007 in Anaheim, California, the ISF-certified Supernova Flex and Supernova Infinity Screens will be demonstrated at dnp booth # 4836. The Supernova Flex is a retractable, motorized version that is ideal for commercial applications. The Supernova Infinity, the latest offering from dnp, is a tiled screen which allows for large format display configurations. Additionally, dnp will showcase other products from the award winning Supernova line including the fixed Supernova One Screen and the portable Supernova Mobile Screen. Three high-end rear projection screens for meeting and control rooms, as well as dnp’s new Wide Angle Screen, Sigma Screen and Giant Wide Angle Screen will also be displayed.
