Gyration Introduces New ULTRA R4000 Remote With LCD Music Display

New Universal Remote Allows Complete Control of Digital Home Entertainment

July 16, 2007

Gyration, Inc., the industry leader in motion-sensing controllers, today announced the development of the new ULTRA R4000 Motion-Sensing Remote with Music Display. The ULTRA R4000 offers music lovers complete control of their media center music library without having to turn on the TV or PC monitor. A backlit LCD screen provides a clear view of music selections right on the remote and allows one-click play and volume control from up to 100 feet away. The device was unveiled at the Digital Life Conference’s Press Preview and will be available in stores in the fall of 2007. One remote that controls all digital home entertainment, the new Gyration ULTRA R4000 can replace existing TV, cable, A/V and Media Center remotes while eliminating the need for a mouse. With patented Gyroscopic Motion-Sensing technology, the ULTRA R4000 lets people use natural hand movements to accurately control the on-screen cursor and all aspects of Windows® Media Center software. It also includes standard menu navigation, an alphanumeric keypad and shortcut buttons. The ULTRA R4000 functions via radio frequency (RF) for the home theater PC, as well as Infrared (IR) for traditional audio/video (A/V) components. With today’s converged Web technologies, the remote also allows full in-air mouse control so people can surf the Web, access streaming media sites such as YouTube®, AOL Music® or Google Video®, or view online photos and video. Gyration’s ULTRA R4000 Motion-Sensing Remote is scheduled to be available at consumer electronics retailers in the fall of 2007. The ULTRA R4000 will also be available bundled with a wireless portable keyboard. For more information, visit www.gyration.com.
