MartinLogan has released the new Motif hybrid electrostatic loudspeaker designed for use as a center, front or surround channel in any system—from 2-channel stereo to multi-channel home theater. Motif is a highly evolved expression of the same ideas and engineering that spawned MartinLogan’s flagship Stage™ center-channel speaker. State-of-the-art XStat™ electrostatic transducer technology, dual aluminum-cone woofers, and highly sophisticated Vojtko™ crossover engineering deliver unrivaled precision and intelligibility. The Motif all but eliminates high-frequency diffraction. This unique mounting system also increases mid-range/high-frequency phase coherence and time alignment while offering superior dispersion characteristics. Motif’s advanced XStat transducer, MicroPerf stator technology, ClearSpar spacers, and vacuum bonding combine with a highly refined crossover topology to greatly maximize efficiency for an effortless, unlimited dynamic presentation. Using only the finest polypropylene capacitors and air-core coils, Motif's crossover employs MartinLogan’s proprietary Vojtko topology for vanishingly low distortion and seamless driver integration. This precision-tuned network preserves even the most subtle sonic nuances while handling the full dynamics of any source. Wall-mount brackets and a toolless pivoting stand (with 35 degrees of motion) allow Motif to serve as either a center or surround speaker, mounted on- or off-wall, horizontally or vertically.
