International Recording Media Association (IRMA) Adopts New Name To Reflect Expanding Market Opportunities

After 37-Years of Introducing Home Entertainment Formats, The Content Delivery & Storage Association (CDSA) Is Born

The International Recording Media Association (IRMA) has formally adopted a new name, the Content Delivery & Storage Association (CDSA), with the introduction of a revised logo design that reflects the continuity of the association's membership as well as the expansion of its programs and mission to encompass all forms of consumer content delivery and storage systems. "The CDSA name more aptly defines our mission as the worldwide forum on trends and innovation for the delivery and storage of entertainment and software content - including both physical and electronic media systems. By maintaining a consistent look to our logo, we emphasize our continuing commitment to our core membership and our association's ongoing services. However, a series of exciting new programs are in the process of being launched that will create a relevant industry-centric environment for a host of new and rapidly expanding content-related technology companies," said Brian Wilson, Chairman of the Board of CDSA. For over 37 years, the association has served the entertainment software marketplace to effectively forge alliances that have introduced virtually all new consumer audio/video formats, from the audio cassette, through Beta and VHS, to the Compact Disc, to the introduction of standard definition DVD and new, next generation DVD formats. With the adoption of the Content Delivery & Storage name, the association now encompasses an increasingly diverse range of content delivery and storage opportunities for content rights holders and their technology partners. The new name is being unveiled immediately and will be featured as part of an association re-branding campaign, which will be unveiled in the coming months. "Our job is and has always been to deliver content safely, securely and satisfactorily for our customers, their customers and their customer's customers. Regardless of how that content is pressed, packaged, compressed, downloaded, stored or shelved, we represent the companies that make the format transition happen," said Charles Van Horn, CDSA President.
