Designed to deliver tight and powerful bass response from high-style, high-gloss black cabinets, the new Energy ESW-V10 and ESW-V8 subwoofers are the perfect bottom-end complement to the company's flagship Veritas Series, RC Series, and Take Series. "Our ESW-V subwoofers offer an unparalleled combination of sophisticated cosmetics and innovative technology," said Ben Burko, Energy product line manager. "The series upholds a level of refinement that is unheard of in its price category. These products reinforce Energy's reputation for offering excellent value." A bass-reflex design with dual rear-firing ports, the ESW-V10 employs a 10-inch Woven Composite Fiberglas™ Cone with patented Ribbed Elliptical Surround™. This proprietary design eliminates surround distortion, enabling the subwoofer to play lower with greater output and fidelity. An efficient BASH® amplifier allows this hard-hitter to deliver 300 watts of RMS power and 1,200 watts of dynamic power. A bass-reflex design with a single rear-firing port, the smaller ESW-V8 offers the same driver technology as the ESW-V10, but instead utilizes an 8-inch woofer and generates 200 watts of RMS power and 800 watts of dynamic power. Both of these subwoofers feature line and speaker level inputs and have an 18dB/octave variable low-pass filter that is continuously adjustable from 40Hz to 120Hz. A fully variable phase control from -180 to +180 facilitates the ideal acoustical integration of each subwoofer with other speakers in an Energy system. Both models also have an "auto power" feature that enables them to turn on and off automatically, based on the presence or absence of an audio signal. Slated to launch in October, the ESW-V8 ($499 U.S. MSRP) and ESW-V10 ($699 U.S. MSRP) will be sold through the mass and specialty retail channels.
