Definitive Technology Introduces New Mythos® Ten On-wall Loudspeaker

Today Definitive Technology announced a new model addition to the best-selling and critically-acclaimed Mythos line of on-wall high performance loudspeakers. The Mythos Ten is 34-1/2" H x 6-1/16" W x 4-3/8" D, perfectly proportioned to match 50-inch and larger flat panel video displays. Through the use of advanced driver and enclosure technologies used in the top-of-the-line award-winning Mythos ST SuperTowers®, the Mythos Ten achieves a level of performance never before achieved in on-wall loudspeakers. -MORE- Each Mythos® Ten contains two high-definition Balanced Dual Surround System (BDSS) 5-1/4" drivers (patent pending) that are pressure coupled to two 5" x 8" racetrack-shaped planar medite low-bass radiators for a total bass radiating surface greater than that of a single 12-inch conventional woofer. The result is bass extension and power unheard of in a slim, on-wall loudspeaker. The bass roll-off of the Mythos Ten is smooth and controlled, allowing it to seamlessly blend with a powered subwoofer, such as Definitive’s Super Cube I, for audiophile-grade home theater power and precision. The two active 5-1/4” drivers surround a new generation Pure Aluminum dome tweeter, the same used in Definitive’s Mythos® ST SuperTowers®. This remarkable new tweeter incorporates a new voice coil, new dome, new surround, and an acoustically contoured faceplate. The result is the most extended, detailed, and smoothest high frequency response in Definitive’s history. Mythos series enclosures are hand-polished aircraft-grade extruded Aluminum featuring proprietary damping technologies that ensure total rigidity. All components are mounted on a resonance-free PolyStone baffle. These rock-solid construction technologies along with state-of-the-art drivers and tweeter serve to deliver classic Definitive Technology sound quality: wide soundstage, pinpoint imaging, high dynamic impact, and superb realism. The Mythos Ten is an L/C/R loudspeaker that can be used as either a front left/right or center channel speaker. The user attaches the logo badge either at the bottom or side of the grille depending on whether the unit is used as a L/R or center channel speaker. The Mythos Ten is also the perfect choice for use as a center channel speaker for a home theater system based on the Mythos ST SuperTowers introduce earlier in 2007.
