Microtek Expands Cineon™ Series With A New 47-inch Full-HD 1080p LCD HDTV

Microtek, introduces the CineonTM CL47HA, a new 47-inch flat-panel LCD HDTV with full-HD 1080p resolution, in the United States. The CL47HA joins the Cineon series, a high-end line of HDTVs created exclusively for the A/V Custom Installation and Home Theater channels. The CL47HA delivers full-HD 1080p native resolution with 1920 by 1080 pixels in the wide-screen 16:9 format and is the perfect match for 1080i or 1080p video that is available now from broadcast TV, cable and satellite TV, Blu-ray discs and HD DVDs. Using advanced scalar technology from Pixelworks Inc., the CL47HA also accepts and accurately displays 480i, 480p and 720p video in addition to 1080i and 1080p video. “Full-HD 1080p LCD HDTVs are impressive with stunning detail and outstanding picture quality,”said Parker Plaisted, manager of product marketing at Microtek. “By adding the CL47HA to the Cineon series, we offer specialty retailers and custom installers another high quality, flat-panel HDTV with acompetitive price point and tier-one features.” Design Specifications and Factory Calibration With more than 20 years of experience in digital color imaging, the Microtek engineering team has chosen high-quality components and implemented rigorous design specifications to deliver outstanding picture quality. The CL47HA LCD HDTV offers a brightness of 500 cd/m2, contrast ratio of 1200:1, and a viewing angle of 178 degrees. Each Cineon CL47HA HDTV is calibrated at the factory to set the optimum brightness, contrast, sharpness, color saturation, and color balance for a typical home viewing environment. Since the controls used for the factory calibration are separate from the on-screen adjustment controls, the factory calibration is easily restored by selecting the default setting from the on-screen menu. Input Connections The Cineon CL47HA features a full array of input options for direct connection of several devices, creating a complete media center right from the TV. A comprehensive suite of video connections includes four HDMI inputs for 100% digital data transmission in addition to component (YPbPr), VGA, S-Video and composite inputs. A set of antenna inputs for the built-in analog NTSC and digital ATSC tuners are also provided. Since the HDMI connections facilitate direct input of digital signals from a variety of sources, the CL47HA is perfectly suited for home theater, gaming, digital photography, and home video from an HD camcorder. Availability and Price The Cineon CL47HA 47-inch LCD HDTV carries a two-year parts-and-labor warranty and will be available in November through custom A/V and home-theater installers for an estimated price of $3,499.99.
