Demonstrating the solution at Digital Hollywood Fall 2007, Metabeam CEO Chris Brown will show how SimpleROM.com offers a new model for DVD or CD producers to unite their disc content with online content, and provide a natural pathway for viewers to connect to more content logically associated with the media product. SimpleROM.com is a pay-as-you-go or subscription-based service where producers upload their standard web content for processing, then download a simple ROM image to add to their DVD or CD project that will cause the media to behave as a conduit to additional content. When a user launches a disc enhanced by SimpleROM.com in a Windows computer, the disc’s main feature will begin playing in the user’s default media player software, and simultaneously their default web browser will showcase the embedded link in another window.
