Infinity® PS212W Wireless Subwoofer Receives CEA® Innovations 2008 Design And Engineering Award

December 4, 2007

Infinity today announced that its versatile, high-performance PS212W wireless subwoofer has received a 2008 International Consumer Electronics Show (CES®) Innovations 2008 Design and Engineering Award from the Consumer Electronics Association (CEA). Sponsored by CEA, producer of the International CES, and endorsed by the Industrial Designers Society of America (IDSA), the International CES awards honor exceptional product and engineering design. The PS212W combines superlative low-frequency capability with the flexibility of wireless connectivity. Its wireless capability simplifies subwoofer installation, eliminating the need to route wires to the subwoofer through walls or under floors. The PS212W includes a transmitter/receiver module that offers a choice of four selectable channels to ensure interference-free operation. The module connects to an audio/video receiver (or other audio source) and sends signals to a wireless transceiver unit built into the subwoofer. The subwoofer includes a built-in 400-watt amplifier and a 12-inch woofer featuring proprietary Infinity Metal Matrix Diaphragm™ (MMD®) driver material for exceptional articulation and resolution, and features controls that optimize its bass performance in any system. The PS212W is ideal for use with Infinity in-wall and in-ceiling speakers, or to add extended low-frequency capability to any home entertainment system. The PS212W has a black-ash finish accented by a black curved grille, and will be available in March 2008 at a suggested retail price of $679.
