VDC Display Systems, the simulation division of Video Display Corp successfully launched and demonstrated two new display products, LSR and CLS, at the 2007 I/ITSEC show in Orlando, FL. The high degree of customer interest and positive reactions to the unique new products were clear evidence that VDC Display Systems (VDC DS) is listening and responding to customer needs in developing these two new products as well as other developments in simulation enhancements which will be announced early in 2008. One of the new products VDC DS has successfully developed, in cooperation with SONY Japan, referred to as LSR – LCoS / LCD Smear Reduction, is the solution which significantly reduces the motion blur inherent in LCoS projectors. The LSR® Module was incorporated with the SONY SRX S105/S110 projector and was fully demonstrated at I/ITSEC and is available for purchase today. The module can also be integrated with other similar LCD/LCoS projectors. The second enhancement demonstrated at I/ITSEC was a prototype two projector system demonstrating a single screen image utilizing a new development known as: CLS-Common Light Source. This product provides a central source of illumination for multiple projector systems which ensures a uniform display across all the projectors eliminating varying brightness and color problems associated with the ageing of individual lamps. Typical loss of training time as a result of lamp failure or ageing is no longer a factor when utilizing the new system of multiple switchable UHP lamps within the central housing with light delivered via proprietary fiber optic system. A three projector production system will be available during the 2nd quarter of 2008. David Rushton, VP Business Development, commented, “VDC DS has extensive experience delivering projection systems worldwide, used in a wide array of commercial and military trainers, as well as complete solutions for a broad range of applications. These developments are further demonstrations of VDCDS capabilities and commitment to provide customers with unique solutions to meet the demanding requirements of today’s training systems.”
