2008 International CES To Feature Congressional Leaders’ Perspectives On The Transition To DTV

The Consumer Electronics Association (CEA®) today announced that top Capitol Hill staff members will be featured as the 2008 International CES® continues its focuses on the transition to digital television (DTV). The 2008 International CES is the world’s largest consumer technology tradeshow, and returns to Las Vegas January 7-10, 2008. “The DTV Transition: A Hill Perspective” conference session complements the many events and conference sessions focused on DTV. From the launch of the National Telecommunications and Information Administration (NTIA)’s coupon program to a one-on-one discussion with Federal Communications Commission Chairman Kevin Martin, the 2008 International CES is the place to be to learn about the latest in digital TV technology. “The DTV Transition: A Hill Perspective” will take place, Monday, January 7 at 10:30 a.m. in the Las Vegas Convention Center (LVCC) North Hall, Room N262, and will bring together key congressional staff to discuss Congress’s view on current issues impacting the nation’s transition to DTV, 13 months away. Moderated by Julie Kearney, senior director & regulatory counsel, CEA, panelists include Neil Fried, senior counsel, Energy and Commerce Committee, United States House of Representatives, Amy Levine, senior counsel, Energy and Commerce Committee, United States of Representatives and Jennifer Schneider, legislative counsel, Office of the Honorable Rick Boucher.
