LG.Philips LCD Showcases Full Line-up Of LCD Solutions At CES 2008

LG.Philips LCD Co., Ltd., a worldleading innovator of thin-film transistor liquid crystal display (TFT-LCD) technology, announced today that it will showcase its latest, cutting-edge displays and technologies at the Consumer Electronics Show (CES) 2008 in Las Vegas. The company will specifically highlight its full suite of LCD panels for LCD TVs, digital signage and public displays, notebook and desktop computers, digital photo frames, flexible displays and more. “LG.Philips LCD is committed to continually developing LCD panels for TVs, notebook computers, monitors, 3D displays, multi-touch displays and flexible displays which are eco-friendly, slim and with enhanced motion picture response time,” said Mr. In-Jae Chung, LG.Philips LCD’s chief technology officer and executive vice president. “We will pioneer the development of cutting-edge display products through improving the convenience and usability of display products.” At CES 2008, LG.Philips LCD will unveil its 52-inch full HD multi-touch screen for public displays. The company will also showcase its 47-inch ultra-slim LCD panel for TVs that is substantially thinner than conventional panels – only 19.8 mm – and also boasts the thinnest available bezel, just 14 mm wide. The panel also features LG.Philips LCD’s cutting edge 120Hz technology, eliminating motion blur, and Full HD resolution. During the show, LG.Philips LCD will also introduce visitors to the benefits of IPS technology at 120Hz, including viewing angle, motion picture response time (MPRT), power consumption and frame doubling to 120Hz. This year, LG.Philips LCD’s booth at CES will feature four main technology zones highlighting the company’s public displays, flexible displays, green technology and panels for use in IT devices like desktop and notebook computer monitors. Public Display Technology Zone LG.Philips LCD has developed public display products for both indoor and outdoor usage through greatly reducing blurring and enhancing viewability, even in sunlight. At the Public Display Technology Zone, LG.Philips LCD will show its suite of LCDs for public displays, including: • The world’s largest 52-inch Full HD multi-touch screen LCD • The world’s largest and the highest resolution 47-inch triple-view LCD • 47-inch double-sided LCD • 42-inch transflective LCD for outdoor displays • 84-inch multi-vision multi-touch LCD for interactive public displays Flexible Display Technology Zone With a full line-up of products, ranging in size from 4- to 14.3-inches and available in both color and monochrome, LG.Philips LCD has one of the most complete offerings of flexible displays in the industry for applications such as E-paper and E-books. The Flexible Displays Technology Zone demo highlights are: • 10.1-inch flexible display for E-paper • The world’s highest resolution 12.1-inch monochrome flexible display for E-paper • The world’s highest resolution 14.3-inch color flexible display for E-paper • 4-inch flexible AM OLED Green Technology Zone As both the first LCD manufacturer with its own RoHS testing lab and the first to gain HSPM certification, LG.Philips LCD is implementing several new technologies into its panels to reduce power consumption. At its Green Technology Zone, the company will hold several demonstrations to show how its research and development has led to greener LCDs that use less power but still boast improved picture quality. Products to be demonstrated will include: • Low power 42-inch LCD panel for full HD LCD TVs with adaptive backlight dimming control to reduce power consumption by 50 percent • 42-inch LCD panel for full HD LCD TVs with LCD Picture Improvement Solution (LPiS) technology, which offers reduced power consumption and high resolution picture quality • 13.3-inch wide XGA LCD for notebook computers with the world’s lowest circuit driving power • 15.4-inch LCD panel for notebook computers, offering reduced power consumption and enhanced portability through the spotlight function in the backlight unit IT Technology Zone LG.Philips LCD has developed cutting-edge LCD panels for notebook computers and monitors which greatly enhance user convenience. These products will be featured in the company’s IT Technology Zone, as follows: • 17-inch LCD with electronically driven LCD lens that switches to a 3D display • 22-inch LCD and 15.4-inch Wide LCDs for IT applications, featuring LG.Philips LCD’s proprietary Anti-Pollution Polarizer (APP) technology that resists fingerprints and other marks • 14.1-inch Wide LCD with Viewing Angle Image Control, which protects users from exposing personal information while using the screen
