Bell'O Honors CEA President Gary Shapiro With Its "Take A Box... Take A Seat" Award

Bell'O® International, the design leader in luxury audio/video furniture, announces it has named Gary Shapiro, CEO and President of the Consumer Electronics Association (CEA), the latest recipient of its prestigious “Bell’O Take A Bow…Take A Seat” Award. The award recognizes leaders, visionaries and stars for their roles in helping to provide entertainment that is consumed and enjoyed in the home (music, television and DVDs). Shapiro is being honored for his ongoing efforts to champion the hardware that makes today’s home entertainment possible. Bell’O President, Marc Sculler, presented Shapiro with the award at the 2008 Consumer Electronics Show (CES) in Las Vegas (January 7-10). Sculler noted, “Bell’O is honored to recognize Gary for his many years of CEA vision and leadership that have helped to grow and enhance the consumer electronics industry and its many events, including the CES Show, which just completed in Las Vegas.” Shapiro heads the Consumer Electronics Association (CEA), the U.S. trade association representing over 2100 consumer electronics companies, which also owns and produces the continent’s largest annual trade show, the International CES®. He is a charter inductee to the Academy of Digital Television Pioneers, and received its highest award as the industry leader most influential in advancing HDTV.
