Gennum ActiveConnect™ Solution Adopted By Kramer Electronics For Long-Haul HDMI-Over-Coax Cable

Adding another cable manufacturer to its growing list of ActiveConnect(TM) users, Gennum Corporation (TSX: GND) today announced that it is working with Kramer Electronics, a leading supplier of audio/visual equipment, to deliver full-rate high-definition multimedia interface (HDMI) and digital video interface (DVI) performance over copper cable. Leveraging the ActiveConnect solution, the new Kramer cable can transmit 1080p60 video at around 3 times the distance of its traditional copper HDMI cable solutions. Gennum and Kramer are conducting a technology demonstration of the solution in Kramer's booth #F28 at the Integrated Systems Europe (ISE) conference taking place this week in Amsterdam.
