JVC Senior Research Scientist To Present D-ILA Session At EH Expo Manufacturer-Direct Training

JVC Senior Research Scientist and inventor of Image Light Amplifier (ILA), Dr. William Bleha will present on the topic, “Ultimate Home Cinema with D-ILA Projectors,” at EHX Spring 2008 as part of the Manufacturer-Direct Training sessions. Dr. Bleha will present on Friday, March 14, 2008 from 5:00 – 6:30 p.m. at the Orange County Convention Center in Orlando, FL. The session MT106 will be held in Room 330E in the west concourse. A cocktail reception will immediately follow the presentation. An industry veteran and principal of JVC’s research and development of Direct Drive Image Light Amplifier (D-ILA) 3-chip 1080p technology for projection displays, Dr. Bleha will discuss movie theater viewing from both film and digital cinema and the role that ILA technology played in establishing digital cinema. The presentation will look at JVC’s new DLA-RS2 ReferenceSeries projector technology, how to create the ideal cinema viewing experience in the home with D-ILA, and will take a look at the future of D-ILA. “JVC’s D-ILA projectors have evolved to provide a film-like experience that has received outstanding reviews and acceptance from Hollywood. With the new DLA-RS2, D-ILA technology has advanced to provide remarkable levels of contrast ratio formerly only the domain of CRT projectors,” said Dr. Bleha. “This, and other features of D-ILA, will be presented to provide customers with the reasons for the excellent imagery that other technologies cannot duplicate.” Dr. Bleha was awarded the 1986 Rank Prize for Opto-Electronics in London for his role in the invention and development of the Image Light Amplifier (ILA) at the Hughes Aircraft Co. In 1992 he joined Hughes-JVC Technology Corp., which demonstrated the first digital cinema projection. He is the author of over 50 publications and 18 patents.
