Da-Lite Screen Company Achieves ISO 14001 Certification

The Da-Lite Screen Company, the leading projection screen and audio visual products manufacturer, has been awarded the International Organization for Standardization (ISO) 14001:2004 certification for Environmental Management System (EMS) for its worldwide headquarters facility located in Warsaw, Indiana, U.S.A. An ISO 14001:2004-based EMS is a management tool enabling Da-Lite to: • Identify and control the environmental impact of its activities, products or services and to • improve its environmental performance continually, and to • implement a systematic approach to setting environmental objectives and targets, to achieving these and to demonstrating that they have been achieved. “By achieving ISO 14001:2004 EMS certification, we have reached an industry first among producers of projection screens for the AV market,” stated Richard Lundin, Da-Lite President and CEO. “As we continue to develop our eco-friendly future, through GREENGUARD® Certification and the United Stated Green Building Council (USGBC) LEED® accreditation program, the ISO 14001 certification opens an umbrella over all of our efforts and provides a framework for a holistic approach to the company’s environmental policies, plans and actions.” “ISO 14001:2004, requires a strong commitment to compliance with applicable environmental legislation and regulations,” commented Tim Henson, Executive Vice President of Manufacturing, “along with a commitment to continual improvement that is provided by the EMS framework.’ As a part of its essentials, ISO 14001:2004 is a tool that can be used to meet Da-Lite’s internal objectives that provide assurance to management it is in control of the processes and activities that have an impact on the environment and to assure employees that they work for an environmentally responsible company. “This ISO achievement places Da-Lite among a select group of companies in northern Indiana and demonstrates the Da-Lite commitment as a sound corporate citizen to the Warsaw community,” concluded Lundin.
