Goldmund, makers of the world’s most extravagant and technologically advanced systems for audio-video purists, announced today that they have created a new version of their flagship Telos Amplifier system, the U-Telos Amplifier, designed specifically for the Goldmund Media Room. With its digital signal processing (DSP) capability, the new U-Telos is capable of achieving an ideal crossover for the associated speaker with full time delay correction and a signal measurement feature to control the protection of each driver it operates. The new amplifier will also include Ethernet communication to a central controller allowing each amplifier to be polled for parameter loading, specific punctual acoustic corrections and status of each attached driver. With this feature, each amplifier monitors its associated speaker drivers and reports malfunctions to the central room controller. An e-mail is immediately sent to Goldmund’s service center advising of the potential maintenance issue delivering an advanced-service capability to maintain the continuous long-term quality of the entire Goldmund Media Room. With the high number of channels used in a typical Goldmund Media Room implementation, the temporary failure of a driver or an amplifier remains undetectable even by the most discriminating listener. With the amplifier’s capability to detect such malfunctions, a feature not found in traditional amplifiers, the critical failure rate of a media room drops considerably. The U-Telos Amplifier is available in two separate models, a 1-channel version compatible with the U-Logos 2 and U-Logos 3 sub-woofers and a 2-channel version for the U-Logos 1 full-range in-wall speaker. The new Goldmund U-Telos amplifier will be available for both in-wall installation and a rackmount version with identical performance and features. The new amplifier embodies the Telos latest hyper-accurate circuit of 2 x 175 Watts or 1 x 350 Watts, an Alize 6 digital to analog (D/A) converter and a new DSP circuit. The U-Telos speaker system will be exclusive to the Goldmund Media Room, which starts at the price of $400,000 and has one amplifier per speaker for up to as many as 128 speakers. “Once again we are adding one of our flagship products, as we did with the Epilogue system in April, to the Goldmund Media Room to significantly improve upon its already unsurpassed performance,” said Michel Reverchon, president of Goldmund. “Our clients have invested a large sum of money, in many cases exceeding one million dollars, into their media rooms and will appreciate the additional service features that the U-Telos Amplifiers provides. We are committed to providing Goldmund clients with the most technologically advanced gear as well as a level of service that exceeds their expectations.” Additional information can be accessed by visiting the Goldmund website at www.goldmund.com
