Bryston To Debut High-Performance Hybrid Zone Amplifiers At CEDIA 2008

[The following is a release from Bryston]

August 26, 2008

Bryston, LTD has announced that two of four new 8-channel zone amplifiers will be on display at the CEDIA Expo 2008. The amplifiers will be designated the Bryston D-Series D-130Z Hybrid and the D-250Z Hybrid. The term "Hybrid" refers to the combination of class D amplifier technology along with a Bryston engineered linear power supply design. "This is an entirely new product category for Bryston," said sales VP James Tanner. "Although the D-Series is lightweight, highly energy efficient, and cost-competitive with other multi-channel products, these amplifiers also feature input stages and power supplies designed by Bryston—these are world class audio products," Tanner stated. The Bryston engineering team was charged with developing highly reliable amplifier solutions with low heat emissions for tight space applications, such as the equipment racks and closets commonly found in restaurants, bars, and nightclubs. "These are market segments that have been screaming at us for Bryston quality in an affordable, multi-channel configuration," Tanner added. "The D-Series is a true HI-FI solution in a mostly function-first category." There will be four models of Bryston "D-Series" Hybrid amplifiers rated at 90, 130, 250, and 400 watts per channel at 4 Ohms. Each model is application flexible, with bridgeable channels, assignable input configurations, and independent level controls for each channel. The D-130Z and D-250Z will be on display at CEDIA 2008 and the first two models to become available. "Although the entire zone amp product category is separate from our audiophile amplifier designs, Bryston engineers were able to execute class D products at a very high level," Tanner said. The four models of zone amplifiers have been designed to serve the needs of installers building distributed audio systems, home theaters, and commercial live sound applications.
