DLP is the technology that enables 3-D movies, via DLP Cinema® projectors, making it no surprise that DLP is the best technology to deliver the growing amount of 3-D content for entertainment and business via new 3-D DLP front projectors. Norwegian manufacturer, projectiondesign, is now shipping the first 3-D DLP projector. The F10 AS3D is created for the demanding scientific visualisation, simulation and entertainment environments. A full 120 Hz refresh rate enables flicker-free 3-D image and it is fully compatible with 1080p inputs. o World’s first DLP Personal/Gaming Projector As DLP enables a shrinking projector footprint it is able to preserve brightness and picture quality unlike other projector technologies. DLP portable projectors are small and light weight, yet bright enough that users can take them anywhere and transform any space into an immersive theater, where picture size is measured in feet, not inches. The brand new DLP Lenovo My Projector is the first to deliver such mobility while retaining the brightness needed for a large viewing experience. The mobility of the My Projector opens a wide range of uses such as big picture gaming, watching movies, viewing digital camera pictures and video clips, in any location. Developed specifically to meet the demands of a personal projector, Lenovo plans to have this available in the channel before the end of the year. World’s first DLP Pico-Projector Products DLP continues to push the boundaries of mobility enabling the smallest projection products allowing for content to be displayed anywhere at any time. The flexibility of DLP allowed for the development of the miniature DLP Pico™ chipset that is starting to power a growing number of new handheld applications. Optoma and Toshiba respectively have announced plans to ship miniature stand-alone projectors using the DLP Pico chipset to display composite video from a wide variety of handheld and mobile devices. Because they use LED illumination, the products from Optoma and Toshiba will be instant on and require no maintenance traditionally associated with lamp based projection products. They are expected to be available globally in 2009. o World’s brightest DLP Pocket Projectors DLP is the technology of choice for pocket projectors and manufacturers continues to innovate using this technology on image quality and brightness levels. With an average weight of less than one Kilo, these units deliver the versatility and performance to display content anywhere at anytime. Consumers can quickly connect a DLP pocket projector to a DVD player, digital cameras, notebook computers, and now one unit from LG comes with a built in media player. The newest DLP pocket projectors featuring high brightness, solid state LED illumination are from Samsung (SP-P400B) and LG (HS102). These new units pack incredible colors and brightness from tiny packages. The virtue of these products are the flexibility to take and use anywhere. They are the brightest and most aggressively priced products in the market featuring solid state illumination – offering the best price performance value proposition to date. “DLP Products has a proven legacy of “firsts” in the market and the projectors being demonstrated this year are examples of that commitment to innovation and commitment to our customers,” said Lars Yoder, vice president and business manager, TI’s DLP Front Projection Business Unit. “DLP Products is proud to enable our customers, who are the leading projector manufacturers globally, to be the best.”
