Marantz Upgrades Its Line Of Advanced A/V Receivers With Three New High-Value, High-Performance Models

Marantz America, a world leader in advanced home entertainment solutions, is upgrading its acclaimed line of multi-channel audio/video receivers at CEDIA 2008 with the introduction of three new 7.1-channel models that offer consumers and custom installers a host of high-performance features, dynamic surround sound solutions, multi-room audio distribution and more. The company’s three new receivers, all featuring Marantz’ elegant new shallower chassis design and stylish cosmetics, include the SR6003 (SRP: $1,199.99), replacing the SR6001; the SR5003 (SRP: $799.99), replacing the SR5002; and the SR4003 (SRP: $549.99), replacing the SR4002. For ease of set-up and enhanced performance, all feature HDMI repeating capabilities, eliminating signal loss and allowing them to repeat 1080p video signals from HDMI input to HDMI output as well as decode a variety of audio signals via HDMI. SR6003: Innovative Features Geared Toward System Expandability Leading the company’s three new A/V receiver entries, the Marantz SR6003 includes several innovative advancements that make it ideal for use in an expanded home entertainment network. For example, with its 3-In/2-Out HDMI Repeating capability, users can connect two separate displays and switch from one to the other without changing cables. In addition, the SR6003 features a USB Audio Input that supports playback of MP3, WMA and WAV files and provides playback control via remote (Play, Stop, FF, BWD, Skip Forward, Random and Repeat Play), while showing music track information on the unit’s newly designed Graphical User Interface (GUI), with a new iChips processor that enables 256 colors, with better visibility and fine characters. Leading-Edge Performance at More Affordable Prices Marantz’ three new models all include many features found in the company’s higher-end receivers, allowing consumers to enjoy leading-edge performance and convenience features at more affordable prices. For instance, in addition to HDMI 1.3 repeating with Deep Color capability, the new SR5003 and SR6003 feature advanced HBR (High Bit Rate) Audio Decoding, supporting HBR Audio as well as Dolby true HD and dts HD, ensuring compatibility with the latest high-quality sound formats via HDMI cable. They also feature a new full 10-bit video processor that supports an I/P converter for video scaling to 1080p from all analog sources as well as transcoding analog signals to HDMI. For total future-readiness, all models will also accept LPCM 7.1 signals from a Blu-Ray player, have dual component outputs as well as DC Triggers and RS232C. Models SR5003 and SR6003 feature a Multi-zone / Multi-source as well as “Multiple Radio” systems, including readiness capability for satellite (both XM and Sirius Radio) broadcasts. (Separate tuner kits and subscriptions are required for satellite radio reception.) Custom-Installation Friendly Features Marantz’ new A / V receivers offer a wide variety of features and capabilities that will appeal particularly to custom installers. Marantz’ elegant new shallower chassis design (> 16” deep) makes the units perfectly suited to rack-mounting, adding to installation flexibility, and additional room on the backside of the unit makes cabling easier and more convenient. A cursor-controlled menu system on all three models affords total ease of operation. Models SR6003 and SR5003 both feature Audyssey MultEQ, the in-room acoustic measurement and correction system that fine-tunes the listening space via the supplied microphone, with up to six measurement points to ensure even tonal balance throughout the listening room. The SR4003 features Marantz’ proprietary MRAC (Marantz Room Acoustic Calibration) feature with an included high-quality microphone. All three models incorporate features such as detachable power cords and lead-free construction. In addition, a new Front Key Lock for CI system setup on all three models enable remote-only operation, ensuring against accidental/unintended operation from front keys and knobs. An integrated front terminal cover on all three models offers improved cosmetic appearance as well as dustproofing of inputs. Marantz’ newly designed Back-lit learning remote control adds to the integratability of all three receivers, and a new graphical user interface offer improved visibility with 256 colors and fine characters, a specially designed navigation bar for total convenience. The Marantz SR4003 and SR5003 are scheduled for availability in August 2008, and the SR6003 is scheduled to be delivered to market in September 2008.
