Russound, the #1 brand in multiroom audio, has announced a far-reaching overhaul of its successful speaker lineups with the introduction of their new Acclaim® line of architectural speakers. The new speaker line extends Russound’s expertise to new horizons of performance and versatility, for virtually any application and customer. “Russound speakers have always been an excellent choice for multiroom audio,” said Erik Wiederholtz, Acoustics Engineer for Russound. “But with the introduction of the Acclaim line, we’ve taken our collective experience to an entirely new level. Russound now has an offering that brings together all the features and sizes that installers want, and all the performance and sound quality that their customers ask for.” The Acclaim 7 and Acclaim 5 lineups mark the debut of the new Russound speaker series. Both have been designed to provide installers with perfectly tailored in-wall, in-ceiling, and LCR solutions for almost any room application, with 18 models in the higher-end Acclaim 7 lineup and 13 in the value- oriented Acclaim 5. Both the Acclaim 7 and Acclaim 5 speakers feature enhanced value and power handling capabilities, as well as advanced materials and build quality in almost every wanted size. The Acclaim 7 lineup is distinguished by its tour de force display of Russound acoustic technologies, including the company’s patented “Iso-Mount” isolation system. Most impressive is the lineup’s emphasis on a new 7-inch design, which offers more bass and greater efficiency than conventional 6.5-inch designs. Ten new models will be available in this size, with options that include exotic driver materials such as Kevlar, titanium, and silk, and die-cast aluminum baskets and bridges. Other new designs in the lineup include new LCR speakers and an 8-inch, 3-way. All Acclaim 7 in-ceiling models feature Russound’s patented “Twist and Tilt” technology, pivoting tweeters, and many offer 3-level adjustments for bass and treble, for customized speaker output in any acoustic environment. The Acclaim 5 series presents installers with high-value speaker options at the most popular 5.25”, 6.5” and 8” in-ceiling and in-wall designs. In addition to upgraded drivers, the Acclaim 5 and 7 series has been tuned for improved off-axis response, and features rigid frame constructions that resist torque and minimize distortion. The Russound Acclaim 7 series will become available in October 2008, with the Acclaim 5 speakers following in November.
