Savant Systems LLC, with a visionary approach to home automation that emphasizes reliability and a maintenance-friendly open platform, has announced the introduction of the ROSIE hand-held remotes, designed specifically for use with Savant's visually engaging On-Screen Display (OSD) technology. The ROSIE remotes are offered in contemporary and traditional multi-button models, both featuring integrated programmable scroll wheels. User interaction with either remote can be designed to reflect personal navigation preferences, and common home automation, control, and service commands are easily configured and customized using RacePoint Blueprint™. "There may be other two-way remotes on the market, but what differentiates the ROSIE Remotes is their unique combination of aesthetics, form and function," explained Savant president Jim Carroll. Contemporary Remote Savant's spherical Contemporary Remote design makes multi-room system control an intuitive and pleasing experience that is quite comfortable to operate. The Contemporary Remote is available in black (RRC-1000) or custom designed in a wide variety of finishes (RTR-CUST) and materials to match décor. MSRP for the Contemporary Remote is $400 (USD). Traditional Remote Savant also offers a traditional multi-button remote (RTR-1000) for users more comfortable with the feel and operability of a standard remote design. The 27-button Traditional Remote uses common navigation buttons, plus the added benefits of an integrated programmable touch-sensitive scroll wheel. MSRP for the Traditional Remote is $400 (USD). ROSIE OSD The ROSIE On-Screen Display enables users to interact with stunning high definition (HD) icons on their TV screen to control an almost limitless array of components and subsystems within the home. The revolutionary ROSIE OSD is powered by Savant's innovative video mixing and overlay technology, combining and supporting HD and semi-transparent graphics up to 1080p overlaid onto live video. This groundbreaking technology allows control icons to be viewed and fully operated without interrupting the video programming on the screen. "ROSIE OSD revolutionizes interaction with your HD displays, transforming them into `living room control portals," said Carroll. "The ROSIE OSD is completely unique in its ability to overlay the OSD over live video content supporting HD and semi-transparent graphics up to 1080p," Carroll concluded. In addition, these icons can be modified (by a Savant authorized dealer) using Adobe® Photoshop®, the world's premier digital graphics editing application.
