Savant Announces 1080p Video Switching

Savant Systems LLC, with a visionary approach to home automation that emphasizes reliability and a maintenance-friendly open platform, has announced that 1080p video switching platforms will be on display at CEDIA Expo 2008 in Denver, CO. SAVANT® is expanding to offer 1080p video switching, currently offered in the ROSIE System 2 and ROSIE System OSD, to the ROSIE Systems 12, 24 and 36 family of multifunctional non-blocking AV matrix switches, delivering flexible and scalable configurations up to 27 x 36 1080p video switching, and supporting up to 144 stereo zones or up to eighteen 7.1 surround sound zones. Savant's 1080p video switching capabilities in ROSIE Systems 12, 24 and 36 are provided via the newly announced digital video input and output modules, the VIM-D1080p, VOM-D1080p and VOM-41080p supporting HDMI™ and HDCP. Any HDCP encoded video signal can be routed up to 36 video outputs simultaneously. "More consumers are seeking ways to view and switch 1080p video content throughout their home, and our new 1080p video solution facilitates seamless integration of 1080p sources," explained Savant president Jim Carroll. "When combined with digital signal sources, digital displays, and cabling, the new modules allow fully digital end-to-end signal distribution with the control functionality of a SAVANT multiroom A/V system.
