International CES Wins First Place Honors In IAEE's 2008 Art Of The Show Competition

The Consumer Electronics Association (CEA)®, the producer of the International CES®, announced today that it received four first place awards in this year’s International Association of Exhibitions and Events’(IAEE) Art of the Show competition. The IAEE Art of the Show competition recognizes promotional achievements of exhibitions and events. “These awards illustrate the attention to detail and quest for excellence that goes into planning and promoting the International CES, the most important consumer electronics event of the year,” said Karen Chupka, senior vice president, events and conferences, CEA. “Each year we look to re-energize CES and our innovative marketing is a part of this strategy. As the leading trade association representing the consumer electronics industry, we strive to be as innovative in promoting our industry as our member companies are in developing new products for consumers.” In the large event category [over 150,000 net square feet], the 2008 International CES marketing campaign, “The Art of Technology,” won the following first place awards: Attendance Promotion Campaign award (multiple pieces) – entries included the 2008 International CES Alumni Registration piece; Attendee Brochure; Conference Brochure and Domestic Target Retention piece. Print Advertising award (single piece) – for the 2008 International CES content ad, “Experience the Art of Convergence,” with illustrations for the gaming, home theater, wireless and in-home networking product categories. Show Promotion award – for CESweb.org. Show Dailyaward – the CES Daily published by TWICE Magazine. The 2008 International CES also received two honorable mentions for E-mail Promotion and Attendance Promotion Brochure. The 2009 International CES will be held in Las Vegas, January 8-11, 2009.
