SENSIO Technologies Inc. (“SENSIO”), inventor of the SENSIO®3D technology, will be presenting sport content in live stereoscopic format (“Live 3D”) as part of its participation to CEATEC, Combined Exhibition of Advanced Technologies, held in Tokyo, Japan from September 30 to October 4, 2008. Visitors will be able to view boxing in 3D, courtesy of Inition and Can Communicate, on an ACL HD 3D television set. SENSIO is already involved in the Live 3D broadcasting market, specifically in digital cinema, and by offering alternative broadcasting, such as sporting events, it proves to industry players that this type of content can also service pay-per-view and video-on-demand programming in 3D format. “We are very proud to have the opportunity to show Live 3D content at CEATEC this year. Manufacturers will clearly see this technology’s great potential, since it will multiply possible content sources, which is a vital aspect to the emergence of the home 3D movie market,” explains Nicholas Routhier, President and CEO of SENSIO. As part of the Canada Pavilion (Hall 4, stand #4B33), SENSIO will also present excerpts of 3D Hollywood films, such as Paramount Pictures’ Beowulf and Warner Brothers Entertainment’s Polar Express. Besides this unique opportunity to view SENSIO®3D technology, which will enable consumers to view 3D movies at home, visitors will also be shown a demonstration of JVC’s real-time 2D to 3D conversion technology. Through a special agreement with JVC, SENSIO has been able to improve its technological package and combine its SENSIO®3D features with JVC’s 2D to 3D conversion system. “We are pleased to be a part of CEATEC for a third consecutive year. This trade show is an excellent medium to present our technology to many manufacturers from Asia and elsewhere, as well as to increase our visibility within the industry,” adds Mr. Routhier.
