Harman International Opens New Headquarters In Stamford, Connecticut

Harman International Industries, the leading provider of branded audio and infotainment electronics for the home, the car, and sound professionals, today announced the official opening of its new corporate headquarters in Stamford, Connecticut. The new headquarters consolidates a number of executive and corporate functions previously distributed between separate offices in Washington, D.C. and Los Angeles, California. Approximately 50 employees will work out of the new headquarters, which will occupy one floor in an office tower in downtown Stamford, located 45 minutes from New York City. “Consolidating Harman International’s corporate functions into one location offers up a number of productivity improvements, including better collaboration among our divisions and increasing the speed of decision making,” said Dinesh Paliwal, Chairman and CEO of Harman International. “With key operations in several locations around the world, Stamford is a central location to serve our employees and customers in the Americas, Europe, and Asia.” The Stamford headquarters includes a showcase of electronics products representing over 50 successful years of the company’s history. Intriguing items include the world’s first high fidelity receiver (the Harman Kardon Festival D1100), one of the first car radios with automatic station search (the Becker Mexico) and a gold plated microphone created for music legend Frank Sinatra (the AKG C535).
