Yamaha, the innovator in home theater and digital audio and video reproduction, today introduced the DVX-700 DVD home theater system featuring an integrated DVD player, two front speakers and a powerful subwoofer for ultra-realistic home theater performance in an elegant design. The ideal system for smaller spaces where refined style is important, the DVX-700 ($1,199.95 MSRP) utilizes Yamaha’s exclusive Air Surround Xtreme technology to deliver fully convincing surround sound performance without requiring multiple speakers to be installed throughout the room. Compact and eye-catching, the DVX-700 provides an exciting new way for consumers to bring home theater into their lives with a single purchase. The simple, basic and clean design ideally complements and enhances both modern and traditional home décor.  The DVX-700 features a host of additional advancements all designed to deliver superior performance from a compact system. The DVX-700 also offers full HD 1080p-compatible HDMI digital output and 1080p video upscaling. Yamaha’s new Extended Stereo technology provides a wider sound field so that all listeners seated in the room can enjoy the best performance. With four surround modes (Movie, Music, Sports and Game) the DVX-700 also lets users effortlessly dial in the perfect sound for every source. Three speaker position modes (Narrow, Normal and Wide) let you further optimize imaging by selecting the setting that best matches speaker placement. Offering seamless integration with Bluetooth devices and iPods, the DVX-700 is compatible with Yamaha’s optional YBA-10 wireless Bluetooth audio receivers and YDS-10/YDS-11 universal iPod docks. When docked, iPod song titles are displayed on the DVX-700’s front panel. The system is designed to provide superior performance with today’s most popular compressed music sources such as Mp3 and WMA files. The DVX-700’s Compressed Music Enhancer utilizes exclusive processing to restore music nuances lost when music files are compressed, making high and low frequency ranges sound richer and smoother. The XM/Sirius-ready unit has a built-in FM tuner to receive your favorite broadcasts. In addition to playing DVDs and CDs, the unit has a USB port to enable connecting an external drive containing video, audio or image files. HDMI connectivity provides state-of-the-art AV signal purity. Digital and analog audio inputs deliver pure sonic performance with a wide range of source devices, while component and composite video outputs provide additional display options. Air Surround Xtreme: Space-Saving Surround Sound Solution Yamaha’s new Air Surround Xtreme technology not only gives the DVX-700 remarkable home theater performance capabilities. Made possible through the use of Yamaha’s exclusive 24 kHz HRTF (Head Related Transfer Function) surround technology, Air Surround Xtreme delivers a truly enveloping 360-degree sound stage with crisp, clear dialogue in the front and seamless surround sound movement around the user. The performance made possible by Air Surround Xtreme far eclipses other two-speaker surround sound systems which are typically hampered by weak surround effects to the sides and sonic blind-spots in the rear. The DVX-700’s powerful 70-watt subwoofer delivers deep, impactful bass. With a total 210 watts of power (70W per satellite, plus 70W subwoofer), the DVX-700 is capable of delivering powerful, clear performance. Each of the two front speakers boasts a two-way acoustic suspension design with a 2 1/8-inch woofer and 1-inch tweeter, while the shielded, bass reflex sub houses a 6 1/2-inch driver. For enhanced versatility, the speakers include removable stands and are wall-mountable with vertical and horizontal placement capability. At only 3 3/4 by 7 1/2 by 4 inches (WHD), the speakers are compact and easy to accommodate in virtually any space. The subwoofer, which can be positioned vertically, either facing front or sideways, also puts the emphasis on elegance with a rear cover to hide terminals and wires.
