Three new switching systems from Gefen offer the ability to interconnect high-definition video devices with flat panel displays and projectors. Without a similar system, displays and projectors equipped with one HDMI input are unable to access multiple sources without unplugging and replugging devices. Gefen's new HDMI switchers support the expanded HDMI v1.3 format, enabling consumers to take full advantage of HDTV enhancements that include deep color for vibrant imagery. 1080p full HD video is supported on both models, ideal for entertainment systems using the most demanding HDTV available today. The 4x2 HDMI v1.3 Switcher connects four Blu-ray players, digital video recorders, set-top boxes and gaming consoles using the HDMI v1.3 format to two HDMI flat panel displays or projectors, making it ideal for home theaters using both a mounted flat panel and drop-down screen. Whatever source is selected is delivered to two displays or a display/projector combination at the same time. This switcher also offers an additional digital audio (S/PDIF) output extracted from the HDMI signal to feed multi-channel audio receivers for surround sound. Source selection is controlled by IR remote or RS-232 connection, which links it with home automation systems. The 2x4 HDMI v1.3 Switcher supports two HDMI inputs, such as a Blu-ray player and set-top box, and four HDMI outputs that link to four flat panel displays or projectors. Whatever source is selected is delivered instantly to all four HDMI displays and projectors, making it perfect for multi-screen entertainment systems. Source selection is controlled by IR remote or RS-232 connection. The 2x2 HDMI v1.3 Switcher allows any two video sources to be viewed on two displays at the same time. Users can switch between both sources, while Video in 1080p full HD resolutions with Dolby TrueHD and DTS Master Audio is transmitted to two displays using the expanded HDMI format. Gefen also supplies a 1:3 HDMI v1.3 Distribution Amplifier, which allows one HDMI v1.3 source, such as a Blu-ray player, game system or set-top box, to be viewed on three flat panel displays or projectors using the HDMI v1.3 format. For multi-display rooms, this distribution amplifier supports 1080p full HD with deep colors on all three displays for a vibrant visual performance.
