The JumpSeat Ottoman, honored with a CES Best of Innovations 2009 Design and Engineering Award, is now shipping to Salamander Designs’ 600-plus authorized dealers. The unique JumpSeat Ottoman unfolds to reveal a hide-away theater seat that can be used as a secondary or extra seat for watching movies or playing video games. Innovations Awards are presented to the most honored products in 34 categories. The JumpSeat also serves as a traditional ottoman, a cushioned surface ready to convert a comfortable seat into a luxurious feeling chaise lounge. Either way — as an ottoman or as seating — it works equally well with the full spectrum of Salamander Designs’ varied Home Theater seating systems. The JumpSeat features a sturdy, patented mechanism that helps the top smoothly rise into a vertical position, revealing a padded seat and backrest. The generously sized seat is 22 inches wide x 17 inches deep, with the back rest 24 inches high. Closed, the Seat measures 31 inches wide x 24.5 inches deep x 15.25 inches high. A cup holder and a small compartment for remote controls or game controllers rest along the seat’s right-hand side. It comes supplied with a set of sturdy wood feet, and four rolling casters for mobility, providing owners with both options. The JumpSeat is available now in black leather, and brown leather with matching microsuede interior as a stock item shippable within days of its being ordered. In the Spring, the seat will be available in many other leathers and fabrics. It will also be available in two stitching styles that match the stitching on Salamander Designs’ Home Theater seats.
