Hales Design Group of Huntington Beach, California has established itself as an innovator and performance-leader in the high-end loudspeaker marketplace. Led by President Paul Hales, the designer and engineer of all of the companyís products, Hales Design Group marries high technology design and production resources with hand-craftsmanship and passion for music reproduction, to offer world-class loudspeakers to music-lovers and film-lovers worldwide. Hales has introduced two new high-end loudspeaker lines in what Paul Hales has defined as a new category of home theatre speakers designed to recreate the impact, scale, and dynamics of a theatrical presentation. Deemed the Cinema Reference Series, this new loudspeaker system is based on the same ultra hi-efficiency horn-loaded driver technology used in hundreds of commercial theatres nationwide and is the first theatre package to bring the ""sound"" of the cinema home, says the company. Hale says, "" the ability to reproduce motion picture soundtracks at realistic levels is no longer hindered by the limited dynamic range restrictions of conventional loudspeakers.""Featuring a titanium diaphragm professional grade compression driver and 15-inch woofer, the Cinema Reference is said to achieve a stunning 102-dB efficiency rating. The optional subwoofer module is said to blend seamlessly with the main speaker to form a high impact full range presentation. The Cinema Reference has been designed for high-end custom theatre applications. Flush mounted within the walls of the best high-end home theatres, the Hales Cinema Reference Series is not to be seen but to be experienced, says Hale. Because of his devotion to hi-end loudspeaker design, the company says that Paul Hales made audiophile performance standards a primary objective in the creation of this new line. Like other Halesí products, the Cinema Reference features hand built premium grade crossover networks, specifically chosen drivers, and Cardas wiring throughout. Cinema Reference SeriesSpeakers are priced at $7,500.00 per channel. Pricing for the Cinema Reference Series optional subwoofer is to be announced.AlexandraStanding just 46 inches tall, Halesí new flagship speaker, the Alexandra, is said to offer a level of performance beyond other compact full-range loudspeakers. Paul Hales says of the Alexandra, ""For the first time, reference level dynamics, refinement, and resolution are all achieved without the intrusion required by an immensely proportioned loudspeaker. Unique in design, the elliptical shape of the Alexandra enclosure was implemented to minimize the occurrence of parallel surfaces within both the bass and mid/hi modules. Thus, the audible effects associated with internal standing waves have been eliminated.""The foundation of the speakerís performance is provided by dual 10-inch aluminum cone woofers designed by Paul Hales. These proprietary bass drivers are said to be capable of extraordinarily high output and thunderous bass extension while achieving detail and resolution seldom heard in the low frequency area. Incorporated within the 40 lb. aluminum head module are an ultra-wide bandwidth beryllium ribbon tweeter (with a neodymium magnet system) and two aluminum cone midrange domes. Each speaker is built using drivers matched to an industry standard 3/100th dB. Alexandraís all metal driver arrays are then mated with hand built premium crossover networks, which the company says, forms a seamless presentation of the musical spectrum. The Alexandra is said to achieve an impressive 28Hz to 80kHz bandwidth at 94 dB efficiency rating.Pricing of Alexandra is to be announcedFor more information contact the Hales Design Group, 16812 Gothard Street, Huntington Beach, California, 714.841.6884 (voice) 714.841.2427 (fax).
