At the 2009, International Consumer Electronics Show (CES), SiBEAM, Inc., a leading innovator of millimeter wave (mmWave) solutions and developer of high-speed wireless communications platforms, showcased key milestones in delivering the industry‚s only true uncompressed, lossless wireless high definition solution. By entering volume shipments and being featured in flagship products from industry leaders such as Panasonic Corporation, LG Electronics, Toshiba Corporation and Gefen, SiBEAM demonstrated its chipsets‚ ability to power unprecedented wireless audio/video and data capabilities. SiBEAM‚s Award-Winning Chipsets Enter into Mass Production Last year at CES 2008, SiBEAM announced the availability of its SB9120 WirelessHD HRTX Transmit Network Processor and SB921 WirelessHD HRRX Receive Network Processor with OmniLink60 technology chipsets to select customers. At this year‚s show, the company announced that its line of WirelessHD chipsets have hit mass production levels to support their broadly expanded partner product development activity. Breaking speed barriers by transferring video, audio and data at up to 4Gbps, these chipsets operate in the 60GHz band and are the first to be developed and produced in standard CMOS. Panasonic and LGE Launch First TVs with WirelessHD Technology First on the scene with WirelessHD HDTVs, leading CE manufacturers Panasonic and LG announced the debut of their flagship flat screen televisions powered by WirelessHD technology. Panasonic showcased their VIERA Z1 54-inch Plasma HDTV powered by SIBEAM‚s WirelessHD technology. LG announced their 55-inch LHX LCD television and 55-inch and 47-inch LH-85 LCD televisions featuring a separate media box that streams the highest quality HD content from various sources wirelessly to the display adding to a growing list of CE manufacturers adopting the standard and pointing to a year dominated by WirelessHD. Toshiba Corporation Demonstrates their Wireless Future Toshiba highlighted their next generation REGZA LINK (HDMI-CEC) adapter based on the WirelessHD specification which allows the transfer of lossless, uncompressed HD video, audio and data between devices including Qosmio PC‚s placed anywhere throughout one room. GefenTV Debuts Wireless for HDMI 60Ghz Extender with WirelessHD at CES 2009 Gefen‚s no-cables-required WirelessHD solution allows home entertainment system installers to place high definition displays in hard-to-reach locations, such as placement of HDTVs on the ceiling, outdoors, and over the fireplace, to name a few. This system relies on leading edge WirelessHD technology from SiBEAM to deliver HDMI at 1080p full HD, sending uncompressed video from a source to the display wirelessly. This eliminates messy wiring, and offers a cutting-edge and reliable method of high bandwidth HDMI signal delivery. SiBEAM Chipsets Featured in First WirelessHD Interoperability Demo Suite at CES 2009 Several WirelessHD members displayed products powered by SiBEAM‚s technology in the WirelessHD Interoperability Suite including Abocom, Gefen, LG Innotek, Murata, Panasonic and Toshiba. These products demonstrated WirelessHD capabilities between devices such as, set-top boxes, Blu-Ray players, personal computers, laptops, HDTVs and gaming consoles. The suite highlighted seamless interoperability between different manufacturer‚s products, both embedded and via adapter products. Technology equipment manufacturers Agilent, Tektronix and TDK also demonstrated their 60GHz testing equipment. Additionally, SiBEAM demonstrated the first wireless gigabit Ethernet based on WirelessHD 1.0 compliant hardware. The successful application of this technology could be used for PC virtual docking stations in which a laptop is powered on and immediately connects to a printer, hard drive or monitor, wirelessly. Another application is high speed SyncŒn Go˙ in which set-top boxes can be connected to a PC or other portable device for the automatic transfer of gigabytes of multimedia files. WirelessHD Survey Reinforces SiBEAM Commitment to Highest HD A/ V Quality „An independent survey commissioned by WirelessHD found that 75% of almost 2000 respondents around the world prefer to have the highest quality wireless connectivity in one room, rather than lossy, compressed video delivered throughout the entire home,‰ said John LeMoncheck, CEO and Chairman of SiBEAM. „Further, three of the top five significant considerations when purchasing or replacing their home A/V equipment include ease of installation, flexible device placement and elimination of cable clutter.
