U.K.-based Cambridge Audio first Blu-ray Disc/DVD/CD player, the Azur 640DB will soon be introduced in the United States. The cosmetic design complements the new full-featured Azur 640R 7.1 HDMI AV Receiver. The Azur 640DB will feature a HDMI 1.3b output including bitstream output of all suround codecs including Dolby TrueHD 7.1 and DTS-HD Master Audio 7.1 lossless sound formats. The profile 2.0 640DB will support Full HD 1080p, 24p playback and also upscale to 1080p while providing support for BD Live functionality and interactivity. The latest Cirrus Logic/Crystal chipset with 32-bit DSPs will be incorporated internally. A full set of analog video outputs will be supported (Ethernet, SPDIF, TosLink) as well as dedicated 7.1 and stereo analog outputs. The Cambridge Audio 640R 7.1-channel home theatre receiver uses the company’s legendary build quality and then embraces the latest HDMI technology to produce high-performance multichannel surround sound that rivals Cambridge Audio’s renowned musical reproduction. According to the company," the key to this musical performance is the seven 100W audiophile grade fully discrete amplifiers which are kept as separate as possible from the processing and input stages. This considered amplifier design ensures that the 640R can reproduce the dynamics and scale required for modern film soundtracks whilst also being able to produce a genuinely musical performance with either stereo or multichannel music sources."
