Steinway Lyngdorf Launches S-Series At NYC’s Savant Experience Center

Steinway Lyngdorf, the company that took the global audio industry to new heights with the launch of the Model D Music System in 2007, and who partnered with another industry leader, Savant Systems LLC, to showcase their iconic audio system in Savant’s 9.000-square-foot design center in Manhattan’s SoHo neighborhood, invited 150 members of the design, architectural, and custom integrator communities along with music-loving clients and media Tuesday night to Savant Systems’ Experience Center, for the official launch of its new S-Series of compact speakers. The S-Series speakers, on demo throughout the reception, featured Steinway Lyngdorf’s RoomPerfect™ 3D room correction technology, now optimized for smaller rooms and yachts. They were shown at last year’s CEDIA Expo in prototype form and are now shipping. At the event, Steinway Lyngdorf founder Peter Lyngdorf introduced Steinway artists Greg Anderson and Elizabeth Roe , who performed duets on a John Lennon “Imagine” Series Limited Edition Steinway grand piano. “The Steinway Lyngdorf music system makes a powerful presentation both visually and sonically,” stated Savant president Jim Carroll. “We are pleased to have the cooperation of such a preeminent audio brand in our New York City Experience Center,” Carroll added. Providing an eye-catching focal point as one enters the design center is Steinway Lyngdorf’s flagship two-channel system, the Steinway & Sons Model D Music System, beautifully paired with a Steinway & Sons piano. The piano is outfitted with a player system which allows the user to select music from the accompanying iPod and then simply sit back to appreciate as the piano plays itself and the remainder of the soundtrack is reproduced flawlessly through the Model D Music System. The result is a breathtaking experience that makes one believe that they have been transported to a live performance. Together the music system and the piano pay tribute to the Steinway & Sons heritage of unparalleled craftsmanship by displaying the traditional European high-gloss polyester finish from the Steinway factory in Hamburg, Germany as well as the softer satin finish which Steinway’s Long Island City factory is famous for. “Partnering with Savant for their new Design Center is a wonderful opportunity and we were delighted when they selected Steinway Lyngdorf to join the project.
