Belgium-based Auro Technologies announced today that it has finalized
a five-year agreement with current three-time Emmy® Award-nominated Michael Williams (with
Abaculi Media). The deal involves remixing the current 95-title MMG catalog of concert films and
mixing an estimated 250 future concerts to be produced by Michael Williams. All of the mixing
and remixing will be done using AURO-3D® sound technology. David Royal of Royal & Associates,
Inc. and Don Lewis of EB5 Services facilitated the relationship and Royal structured the deal.
Snoop Dogg, Alabama Shakes and The Black Keys will be amongst the first of MMG’s concerts to
benefit from AURO-3D®, a listening format that delivers the most natural immersive sound
experience on the market. It is an exciting move from two-dimensional surround sound formats
to three-dimensional sound, achieved by adding the missing and final dimension in sound ‘height’
(in front of and all around the listener). AURO-3D® is the only sound system on the market that
has both 5.1 surround and Auro 9.1 in just one standard PCM delivery file with high resolution
audio in each channel, making it easy for distribution on any system in the world.
Michael Williams is a singer, songwriter, producer, percussionist, choreographer and a former
recording artist under Island Records. Mr. Williams orchestrated one of the first and most highly
recognized online concerts with Snoop Dogg & Friends and founded the immensely popular and
landmark concert series “Billboardlive.com,” featuring A-List stars such as; Alicia Keys, R Kelly,
David Archuleta and Daughtry, among many others. He aligned with Microsoft as a media partner
in the launch of Silverlight and has a global distribution deal with Sony Entertainment Network.
Some additional concerts Mr. Williams has produced and acted as Executive Producer are: The
Beyoncé I Am tour/Minneapolis benefit, Macklemore & Ryan Lewis, Alabama Shakes, Kings of
Leon, The Black Keys, to name a few.
About working with the new AURO-3D® sound format, Michael Williams said, “As a live concert
producer and musician, I’m always on the lookout for ways to accurately capture the best sound
experience that is present in a live environment, through new audio technologies and expert
engineers, so that listening to the recorded performance of the concert presents the best
experience possible. The AURO-3D® sound format is a breakthrough that increases the dramatic
impact of recorded musical performances that will forever change the listening experience.
Utilizing the AURO-3D® sound format impacts and moves the audience on a deep, emotional
level. It feels like being there during the original performance.”
Wilfried Van Baelen, Founder and CEO of Galaxy Studios and pioneer behind the AURO-3D®
format added, “MMG’s catalog draws audiences deep into the heart of concerts, and AURO-3D®
shares the very same goal: to offer audiences total immersion within the concert on-screen.
We’re delighted to have Michael Williams’ endorsement, and look forward to working closely
together over the next five years, exploring new depths and taking his already revolutionary work
to ever greater levels.”
