Sony Pictures Home Entertainment releases Pixels with Auro 11.1 on Blu-ray™ in select international territories

Brussels, Belgium, December 10, 2015 – From Adam Sandler’s Happy Madison Productions and Director Chris Columbus (Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone) comes the visually spectacular action-adventure PIXELS, which will debut in select international markets with an immersive 11.1 Auro-3D® mix on Blu-ray™ from Sony Pictures Home Entertainment.

Remixed specifically for the home theater environment, the Auro-3D® mix creates an exciting three-dimensional soundscape thanks to the addition of a Height layer in front, above and all around the listener. Auro-3D® is an exciting move from two-dimensional surround sound formats to three-dimensional sound. The Auro-3D® sound format is the next generation in audio, marking an exciting leap forward from standard Stereo and Surround sound that increases the dramatic impact of feature films such as PIXELS.

Synopsis: When aliens misinterpret video-feeds of classic arcade games as a declaration of war against them, they attack the Earth using games like PAC-MAN™, Donkey Kong™, Galaga™, Centipede® and Space Invaders™ as models for their various assaults and it’s up to Adam Sandler (Grown Ups 2), Kevin James (Paul Blart Mall Cop 2), Michelle Monaghan (Source Code), Peter Dinklage (“Game of Thrones”) and Josh Gad (The Wedding Ringer) to save the world!
