LG ELECTRONICS’ 2016 OLED TVS TO EXCEED JUST-RELEASED UHDA TECHNICAL SPECIFICATIONS

January 5, 2016

LG Electronics USA confirmed that LG’s 2016 OLED 4K TVs being introduced this week at CES® 2016 are designed to exceed the “Ultra HD Premium” technical specifications announced tonight by the Ultra HD Alliance (UHDA).

Key 2016 models already have passed the UHDA’s rigorous certification testing, and LG’s entire 2016 OLED 4K TV line is expected to be among the industry’s first to be certified as Ultra HD Premium, meeting the stringent premium performance requirements just released by the UHD Alliance.

The Ultra HD Premium certification applies only to products that meet the most demanding performance standards for resolution, high dynamic range (HDR), peak luminance, black levels and wide color gamut, among other criteria. HDR content further improves upon the already astonishing OLED technology, helping to achieve even brighter highlights, enhanced shadow detail and dimension, and colors never before seen on TV.
